A very hot but fun field day

Our first station was with the tires.

We had sled/bed races in the gym.  What fun!

The obstacle course had us jumping, running, and dribbling a ball.

All of us worked together with the parachute.

Hippity hop was our last station before.....

Ms. Black had to fulfill her promise of our Livestrong Challenge. If we raised over $3,500.00, she would do an obstacle course in front of the entire school.  We raised the money so she had to do the obstacle course.  At this station she had to pop balloons with her bottom.

It was hot but we had a great time.   Hope you enjoy a little glimpse into our morning activities.

Field Day instructions

Field Day
Field Day is tomorrow, May 31st from 9 am to 11 am.

Here are a few notes to help prepare your child for the big event:

1)   Please put sunscreen on before your child comes to school.  I will not be able to apply it on 21 children, so please help me.

2)   Please dress your child for the weather. Sneakers are a must and a baseball hat is recommended. It will be very warm!!

3)   Please send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name. There will be a water station, but this will allow for quicker drinks.

4)   Please remind your child that Field Day is a fun way to get exercise while learning to work together – It’s not about winning or losing.

5)   For easy identification of our class, please have your child wear the white pirate shirt they wore on our class field trip. If you cannot find it, please have your child wear a white shirt.

Thanks for your help,

Peep Peep Peep

We have some chicks that hatched over the last 24 hours.  The dark one was the first.  It is a Blue Orpington chick (hatched 5-12-13) and the yellow chick was hatched this morning (5-13-13) and it is a Golden Cuckoo Maran.  The class and I are so excited that our little friends have come.  Maybe we might have more... time will tell.  You can come and see (and hear) them in person on Thursday night at our Curriculum and Art Show.
Chick fact:  Do you know how long it takes to hatch from and egg?   (Over 5 hours)

BRAVO

Bravo, bravo, bravo.  I think you will agree with me.  The students did a fantastic job reciting their individual poems and group poems.  It was wonderful to see so many of you come out to support this effort.

There are only 8 days, until hopefully, we hear some peeping from our eggs.  As promised, I will keep you posted. I hope to have some pictures too.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Enjoy your sunshine filled weekend.
