Fingers crossed

We have been waiting and waiting as I guess you have heard, the chicks, hopefully, will hatch either Monday or Tuesday.  It is a great experience as long as it happens.  Fingers crossed.
Snail have also arrived in class for our class aquariums and so have female and male guppies.  It is becoming like a zoo in our classroom.  We are still awaiting pill bugs and millipedes for our terrariums.

The ends of the year is rapidly approaching, where has the time gone?  Do you have plans for next year? Are you moving?  If so please let me know.  We will soon be making class lists for next year and if your child WILL NOT be returning to the Lumberton School District we need to know.  Please send me an email. Thank you.

Chips, Plants, and Hats

This week was a bit different in our classroom, as you may have heard, I was out sick for the first two days.  It was my first time in 20 years teaching that I ever called out sick.  So our Cinco de Mayo plans were rescheduled for Wednesday when I returned to school.  We read the book Chicks and Salsa and then did some of our own data collection on chips and salsa.
"Do you like chips and salsa?"

The class gave the chips and salsa thumbs up on taste.

In science we are observing our plants.

It is my hope that you can see our plants in person at our learning fair this Thursday.

It is the Springtime, so you know what that means.... Lots of brain breaks to keep us on our toes.  The class loves to get up and dance.

Friday was also Hat Day.   Even Dr. Mueller wore a special hat.  My hat was actually worn at the 2014 Kentucky Derby.  Check us out.

To all the moms and grandmoms in Dr. Mueller's class:   HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
