Turkey, turkey everywhere

Tom the turkey got some great disguises this year.  I think he might be safe.  What do you think?

A gum ball machine
A mermaid

No, I;m not a turkey I'm Batman.

Oh where, oh where, could he be... say it isn't so. the county jail.

If you were sailing on the Mayflower what would you bring?

And still if you are looking for alternatives to turkey for dinner here are some more suggestions:

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Thank You Veterans

Here is our special day in pictures.  It was awesome.

The Air Force Color Guard came and did a flag folding ceremony.

Our honored guests came back to our classroom to talk with the students for a Q&A session.

Our own class had 5 special Veterans come to the celebration.

We sang songs to our special guests led by our music teacher.

Thank you Veterans.

November

Even though we have only a few full days in school this month we are not short on activities or new skills.

Here is what is going on this past week in Dr. Mueller's class.

All week we have been hearing messages from Ms. Black about helping out with the G.I. Go Fund. This fundraiser is part of the LMS service learning project.  For a $1.00 donation students are encouraged to wear jeans and a patriotic shirt on Wednesday, Nov. 11th to honor and support our military Veterans.  You can send in your $1.00 donation on Monday. Money collected will go to the G.I. Go Fund in support of veterans.

Did you sign up for your Parent Teacher Conference yet?  The Parent Portal is open for you to sign up for your date and time to come in and discuss your child's progress in 1st grade.  If you have not sign up.. Sign up TODAY!!!!

The weather was so nice on Wednesday we could not resist going outside. What better way to enjoy the sunshine and unusual warm weather than with a just right book.  Check us out.

Don't let your child's mind go to mush over the long weekend.  Have you child watch Peg+Cat.  I know you are thinking.. what she wants my child to watch tv.  Yes, seriously, this program is full of learning.  It is a great show on PBS that incorporates math like you have never seen before.  You can also see past episodes on YouTube.  Have your child find all the math concepts through the show.  It is amazing.

Or get out the newspaper and find all the sight words your child knows.

Enjoy the nice weather and read or go on a nature walk.  Get some chalk and practice writing the word study words.
