Seeing stars and Science

Last week our class were not only seeing stars but we were the stars at our First Grade Musical.  Check out of pictures of the big night.

Later in the week we had a special visit from a NJ State Police forensic scientist. She is one of our student's mom.  How cool is that.   She studies science as it applies to the law.  She told us all about what being a scientist is like in her job.  She also showed us awesome certificate she received for her great forensic work.  Then she needed our help and allowed us to be "forensic scientists" with a "special" case she was working on.  We had to use our scientist skills to observe, take notes, problem solve, come up with a hypothesis, and share the results.  All of these skills will come into practice throughout the next few weeks when our science unit ramps up even more.

Important dates

So the season for important dates is upon us and I want you to be aware of what is happening in school for the next couple of weeks.

Mark your calendars:
Tuesday, April 12th 1st grade musical at 2:00 PM. All are welcome to attend

Thursday, April 14th 1st grade musical at 700 PM at the Frank Logandro Performing Arts Center in Bobby's Run.  Please arrive by 6:40pm.  Your child will be assigned a classroom to be dropped off at before and after the concert. All are welcome.

Friday, April 15th NO SCHOOL

Thursday, April 21st Math Night. Don't forget to signup for it. Email Mrs. Scacco if you are planning on attending.

Friday, April 22nd 1st grade field trip.  We are going to the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia.

Friday, May 13th Coffeehouse Poetry. Invitations will be coming soon.
