A Busy February

It might be the shortest month of the year but boy do we have lots of things to learn, do, and celebrate.

In writing we took sides about a topic: Should we be allowed to stay up late and watch TV.
We broke into teams to form our arguments.

We wrote our opinions and reasons for and against the topic.

This week we also made their own groundhog that went along with a poem.

We can't stop talking about the ice snow crystals we made in science class. Here are a few pictures of this way cool experiment.
We mixed the Borax and hot water solutions.

Then we waited as it was suspended in the solution.

We wrote up our science experiment, step by step.

Our final product.  SO cool.

Upcoming events for NEXT WEEK:

100th day of school:  A letter about this fun day will be sent home later this week.

Bubble Gum Math:  More information will be sent home tomorrow, explaining what this is all about.

Valentine's Day:  We will be making valentine card holders in class.  If your child would like to bring in them for their friends, please have them just sign their name on each card.  I will "mail" them into each of the student's holders.  We have 19 classmates.  We will not be having a party but we will recognize it with a card exchange.

African American History Month: each week of the month we will spotlight a different person.
